Only Human……B & W Portraits

When I decided to post these images, I was surprised how tempted I was to retouch them. Stray hairs, blemishes, skin folds, & wrinkles, expression lines, these days anything that makes us human must be erased. When I first started shooting I was only working with film, and I developed these by hand in my makeshift darkroom (bathroom) at the time. The subject is Noam Zylberman, at the time a young musician. Noam was an incredible subject to photograph, full of energy and I was able to capture his personality here. These images are unretouched, with the exception of dust spot removal (yes these are the negatives). Looking at these images brings back the old passion I once had for photography, the raw and edgy talent for this medium coming through strong on every image. I hope you enjoy!
