Shades of Grey….

Everything I thought was true is no longer,
My ideas and beliefs about life and all it stands for has shattered around me
My hardened skin is shedding and cracking to reveal the truth…
People are not all good or all evil, life is no longer all black or white, it is shades of grey…
And sometimes I start to see a tiny inkling of color trying to come through the darkness
It reaches out to touch me & although I cower in its presence, there is a part of me that wants to reach out, but I find a comfort in my pain and remain here in defiance.
There is no perfect place in this world for us, it doesn’t exist….
Introspection
I was hired to photograph this model named Malezia from Montreal & her friend in my Toronto loft. She was fiery and full of life, but had an edge from past experiences. I felt connected to her that day, and we became friends, and she invited me to stay at her loft in Montreal. Shortly after that shoot I had a client call for me to come to Montreal, so I lined up the photo sessions at Malezias loft and we had the time of our lives! There was a lot of late nights, of wine, stories, & fun. However on this night I decided to capture her in a not so pretty state. I wanted to show the darker side of the industry. We drank a lot of wine and I photographed these images in the mirror.
