When working with models or any subject for that matter, you should approach them with kindness. Any feedback that you make when you are behind the camera, can make the difference between a mediocre or great image. Its important to greet them and shake their hand, offer them something to drink. It’s good to discuss any hidden talents they may have like dancing or acting, this will help a lot with your photo shoot and these kinds of talents can create some incredible images, example a ballerina in a couture gown, or an actor who can play a specific role. Always start with the model standing and get test shots for lighting, then start with what I call warm up shots. His is just to loosen them up, you can tell them to jump around a bit and shake out their stress. As a photographer your job is to also be a director, you must have a t least some idea of the effect you are wanting before the shoot. I create mood boards through Pinterest.
